From residence permit to citizenship

How statuses work in Armenia: temporary residence for one year, permanent for five years, a special permit for ten years (being abolished from 1 November 2026), and citizenship after three years of residence. Who is exempt from the residency period and language requirement, why refusals do not have to be explained, and what dual citizenship actually means.

How foreign nationals are authorised to work in Armenia: the permit is tied to a specific job and employer, the vacancy must first be advertised to local citizens for fifteen working days — and a long list of exceptions covering founders and executives of companies with foreign capital, teachers, athletes, and recent graduates.

  • 15 working days · the vacancy is open to Armenian citizens
  • job and employer · are stated in the permit itself

From 1 November 2026

From 1 November 2026, a law comes into force in Armenia that rewrites 26 articles of the law on foreigners: applications only through an electronic platform, annual quotas, two million drams in company capital for business-based status, abolition of special status, and new grounds for losing a residence permit. The key point for those who act in time: applications submitted before 1 November will be processed under the old rules.

  • 1 November 2026 · date of entry into force
  • 2 000 000 ֏ · in the company’s capital

Services and pricing Armenia

How much it costs in total

Select what you need — the total will be calculated instantly. Two or more services — 5% off each.

Visa and residence permit

Documents on the ground

Prices are in US dollars and are all-inclusive — nothing is added on top. Government fees are paid separately and directly: sole trader registration ~$8, annual residence permit fee 105,000–150,000 AMD, medical certificate ~30,000 AMD. Government fees are separate unless the line states otherwise. Payment procedure depends on the country and service; the account and contract go where they are needed. If it doesn’t work via on our side — we will refund the money; no one can guarantee approval. A legal consultation — 50 $, it is applied toward the cost of the service.

What else is needed in Armenia

The status is half the move. The other half is housing, a bank account, a school, doctor and documents on the ground. That is handled by the relevant destination sections network, and you won’t have to explain your situation again.
