Grounds Canada
Start with whichever is closest to your situation. If you are not sure — we’ll work through it together.
Supported status
How temporary status works in Canada: six months as the general rule, what the officer uses as the starting point, when to apply for an extension, and how the rule works that preserves status while a timely application is being processed.
- 6 months · validity under the general rule
- before expiry · renewal filing deadline
730 days
Article 28 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act: a Canadian permanent resident must accumulate 730 days within each five-year period, which days spent abroad count alongside days in Canada, how this is assessed for those who have held resident status for less than five years, and what can offset a breach.
- 730 days · in each five-year period
- 4 cases · when days abroad are counted
Citizenship
One thousand and ninety-five days of physical presence within five years before filing, half-credit for days spent in temporary status with a cap of 365, an obligation to file tax returns for three of the five years, language and country knowledge for those aged 18 to 54, and an oath for those aged 14 and above.
- 1,095 days · physical presence over 5 years
- 365 days · time credit cap toward permanent residence

Documents on the ground
Our prices are in Canadian dollars and are all-inclusive — nothing is added on top. Births are handled by our partner in Toronto: their rates and additional costs are quoted in US dollars, and 13% HST is added on top — this is the partner’s policy, and we disclose it before payment. The US dollar figure is provided for reference. Government fees are paid separately and directly to the relevant authority, at cost and with receipts — this is how the entire licensed market in Canada operates. Government fees are separate unless the line states otherwise. Payment procedure depends on the country and service; the account and contract go where they are needed. If it doesn’t work via on our side — we will refund the money; no one can guarantee approval. A legal consultation — 150 $, it is applied toward the cost of the service.
What else is needed in Canada
The status is half the move. The other half is housing, a bank account, a school, doctor and documents on the ground. That is handled by the relevant destination sections network, and you won’t have to explain your situation again.
